Whistlepig Rye Whiskey 7:00 – 7:50p
Doug Ward, Steward of the Brand for WhistlePig Rye Whiskey, has worked for WhistlePig since its arrival in Texas over 3 years ago. After nearly a decade in the wine industry, luxury rye whiskey caught his eye years ago. He has worked feverishly to promote and educate people about rye and WhistlePig in Texas and Louisiana ever since. WhistlePig is a small brand from Vermont, and requires all Stewards to live on the farm before representing any market. Doug spent 6 weeks in Vermont and goes back 4-5 times per year. He’s gotten dirty by feeding the pigs, working the still, and painting the barn. He truly understand what working for a small producer is all about. While Doug resides in Dallas, he was born in Houston. So his roots are Texas through and through, but his heart is in the rye fields of Vermont.
