Raised on the dusty plains of an Oklahoma family farm, Jared Deck is a storyteller who has learned the hard way. When the family business saw hard times, he turned to the oilfield to pay for school and on to a factory job after. From oilfield busts to factory outsourcing, Deck understands the plight of the American worker because he’s lived it. For his debut album, Deck called upon Grammy-nominated producer Wes Sharon at 115 Recording. Sharon has produced some of the most lauded artists of late, including John Fullbright and Turnpike Troubadours. Jared’s song, “The American Dream,” was chosen as winner of 2016 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, and he was named to Rolling Stone Country’s “10 New Country Artists to Watch.” American Songwriter says, “…you get the sense [Deck] could be, with a little luck and some more songwriting under his belt, in a league with last year’s breakout Americana artist Chris Stapleton.”
Latasha Lee & The Black Ties
LaTasha Lee, Corpus Christi, Texas-bred, showed her mother, Michelle Crayton, at an early age that she was destined to perform. LaTasha (who cites icons such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Sam Cooke, and Otis Redding as influences) knew her sound needed to contain the raw essence of these artists to complete her own vision. Fast forward a few years to the age of 20 when she caught the attention of Universal Music Group signed platinum producer, Salih Williams. In 2006, she signed to Salih Williams’ production company, Carnival Beats, and immediately started songwriting with him to create the LaTasha Lee sound.
